Gallego on Lawmakers Earning Pay During Shutdown

BALLASY: “What do you think about members not taking pay during the shutdown? Do you think that’s something that should be done? Are you personally doing that?”
GALLEGO: “I think it’s a gimmick. Right now, 24 million people are losing their health insurance if we don’t act. These same members are not going to cut their health insurance, they’re not going to increase their premiums. These same members, most of them are millionaires, some of them are billionaires. And, again, let’s focus on health insurance instead of gimmicks. Have a good one.”
