Canada's leftist government has been unable to make any trade deal with the United States after most other countries have done so. The US branded auto industry is abandoning Canada. The economy is faltering. The Canadian approach like the Chinese Peoples Republic approach has been to be aggressive with counter tariffs. Unlike the Chinese with over a billion people Canada has far fewer economic cards to play.
