Speaker Mike Johnson and House GOP leaders will speak with reporters Wednesday morning as the federal shutdown entered its 22nd day, marking the second longest lapse in government funding in U.S. history.
Johnson has aired his frustration with Democrats in recent weeks for their health care demands, which he argues are holding the government “hostage.” On Tuesday, the Speaker also floated plans to unveil a new, longer continuing resolution (CR) that would fund the government at Biden-era spending levels through January.
