A Hasty cocktail is a gin-based, Martini-style drink with a splash of grenadine for sweetness and a dash of absinthe for herbal notes
The recipe dates back to the 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book by Harry Craddock, though it was known as the "Piccadilly" in a later book, the 1937 Café Royal Cocktail Book.
The drink is typically made by stirring the ingredients with ice and straining them into a chilled cocktail glass.
The classic recipe

• Gin: 2 parts
• Dry vermouth: 1 part
• Grenadine: 4 dashes
• Absinthe: 1 dash

Directions
• Add all ingredients to a mixing glass filled with ice.
• Stir until well-chilled.
• Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
