Island Tribe 5 (IT5) is a simplified version of a 4X game - (abbreviation of Explore, Expand, Exploit, Exterminate). While games like Civilization (turn-based) and Command and Conquer (real-time) are better known, they also can be intimidating to learn. IT5 gives the player a simple 4X game based on solo-missions and objective where one can learn the 4X genre without the frustration associated with its better known brethren.

We have not encountered any advertisements for IT5.
While one does pay for the game, there is no additional fees in the game.

We're sure some purists would object to some of the cartoon violence or the stereotypical depiction of island natives. Normal people however should not find anything objectionable in this game.

IT5 can be challenging if one is not used to 4X type of games. The game however takes it easy on players new to the 4X genre.

Pros:
The game works. We have not encountered any bugs.
An easy game to pick. Nice learning curve.
Safe game for children.
An easy strategy game for those who can be overwhelmed by them.

Cons:
Game can get a little monotonous. While all games can get this way, some do it sooner than others.
Only 40 levels and 4 bonus levels.

Bottom Line:
A good entry game for those wanting to get into the 4X space. A safe space to learn about the genre and not feel bad about being a beginner into strategy games.
