If the Sun turned off, Earth wouldn’t know for 8 minutes and 20 seconds? Really?

Things don’t get much more ridiculous than this. A delay of 8 minutes and 20 seconds for the Sun’s light to reach Earth? It’s almost comical, for crying out loud. “All hail the photon?” Yeah. Right.
