The Wavebird Adapter You Never Thought You Needed

The WavePhoenix adapter is a project started by James Smith (aka loopj on X.com) which offers an alternative replacement to the original Wavebird adapter for users of the Wavebird controller for the GameCube who may no longer have access to the original adapter. It's open source and he lays out what's necessary to build your own. However, the beauty of it being open source gives independent companies the opportunity to manufacture their own for sale to the open market. I go into detail regarding my experience using a variant from the folks at Laser Bear Industries and I express my overall opinion of it during that process.
