“Change my behaviour!” they demanded! I changed the constitution instead!

Durham County Council Deputy Leader Darren Grimes said:

“They told me to “change my behaviour.” I changed the constitution instead.

Durham’s new free-speech amendment is a blow for every ordinary Brit sick of woke censorship.

Nobody has the right to not be offended. I found the Lib Dem ‘bollocks to Brexit’ campaign offensive, but guess what? I didn’t complain about them. We cannot allow the complaints process to be weaponised, preventing effective governance, that’s why free speech rules in Durham!”

Amendment to the Code of Conduct - Freedom of Expression.

This amendment, Item No.9, was debated at the Durham County Council meeting on 22nd October.
