The fully loaded barge was kept anchored waiting for the change of tide. In the pitch dark night the flow tide started. Rowing up the river was easy. Sails were spread the wind proving favourable. But at dawn it was found the barge had not moved an inch! They had forgotten to weigh the anchor.
