Judge Bans Ex-Market Basket Execs Gordon & Schmidt From Stores for a Year Over Harassment Claims

Two former Market Basket executives, Joseph Schmidt and Tom Gordon, have been banned from all company properties for a year after a Middlesex Superior Court judge granted the grocery chain a restraining order.

Market Basket accused them of repeatedly visiting stores and corporate sites after leaving the company in 2024, allegedly photographing areas, entering restricted spaces, and unsettling employees. The executives claim they were only shopping or seeing friends, but the court sided with the company, citing potential harassment and disruption.

The ban covers all Market Basket locations, warehouses, and offices until August 2026.
