LESSON OF THE DAY | The Venerable George Kapsanis [ 26.10.2025 ]

A prerequisite for people to be united with Christ and to be revived is, through repentance, to first die for the people they once were. People must first crucify Him and bury their former “self” (i.e. egoism, passions, and selfish will) on the Cross and the Tomb of Christ so that they can be resurrected with Him and “go into the renewal of life” (Rom. 6:4). This is the act of repentance and acceptance of the Cross of Christ. Without repentance, that is, without the constant crucifixion of their former self, it is impossible for the faithful to believe in an evangelical way, that is, to surrender completely to God and to love the Lord God with all their heart and with all their soul, and with all their understanding, and with all their strength "(Mark 12:30).
