God shows no favoritism based on social status or outward appearances, but favors those who are humble, charitable, and open to His work in their lives. The Pharisee, despite his outward piety, was not justified due to his pride, while the humble tax collector was justified.

The call to be a saint is about willingness to cooperate, humility, charity, and striving to do God’s will.
