The core of this playstyle is maintaining the buff from Dark Warrior Mode, a spell in dark magic talent which scales up based on your destruction magic bonus that boosts your melee damage and physical defense. I'd get more melee damage bonus by equipping for melee instead of destruction but it's in theme for this character to have both stats be high. The question is how do I make use of the destruction bonus?

I try out some of the spells in storm magic here. This isn't the finalized build I'm currently using but I want to show how many storm magic spells work with a character that's mainly a heavy warrior. It's not that great. There's no smooth transition between smashing enemies with my hammer into casting a spell at close or long range. There's a smooth transition between doing anything else and tapping the melee spinning attack, which leads to basic melee swings, which leads to using ultimate melee skills. Sometimes I need to back off from enemies but storm spells don't seem strong enough to be useful while I'm far away.

Wind Shield is a great spell in storm magic. Lasts 15 seconds, doesn't seem to have a limited capacity for negating projectiles, but 30 seconds cooldown means I can't maintain it consistently. Enemies that threaten me with projectiles are also ones that can potentially throw an abrupt shotgun blast that one-shots me from full health on this character and have little to no indication that they're about to do it. A better option would be to use either of the two ultimate melee skills that make me invincible for their duration even though they each have a cooldown of about 30~40 seconds and a duration of only about 5 seconds.
