Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has accused the US of “fabricating a war”. the latest military buildup has raised concerns of a possible US bid to remove Maduro from power. The US has also imposed sanctions on Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro for failing to curb the flow of cocaine into the US.
