GEFNFL 48th Season Week 7

[Week 7 - 10/24/2025]

Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen. Week 7 of the 48th season of the GE Friday Night Football League! (Note for those who are new and don't know: the "GE" part of the name is just where this league originated from and has nothing to do with the actual company itself.) With that out of the way, let's get this game started!!

This was our first cold snap game with temperatures in the 40's dropping to the 30's with frost on the field by the end of the game. We had enough players to start off with a 7vs7 game with the Red Team rotating one guy, dropping down to 6vs6 by about the 4th quarter.

The Blue Team started off with the ball and was quick to drive down the field, putting up the first touchdown of the game with a short redzone pass from Nick T. to Alex S. The Red Team was quick to answer that touchdown with a drive and touchdown pass of their own from Jose C. to Zach K. The Blue Team drove back down the field on the next drive and put up another touchdown with an amazing throw by Kyle W. to Kyle K. (Some of us still don't know how Kyle K. caught this one.)

The Red Team tried to answer that touchdown on the next drive but got picked off by Nick T. The Blue Team then made an awesome drive back down the field with an impressive 40-yard 4th down throw from Omar to Alex off of a tipped ball, picking up the first down and putting them in range for another touchdown with a pass from Omar to Kyle K., putting the score at 3-1 at this point of the game.

There was a bit of back and forth on the next two drives. The Blue Team did manage to put up another touchdown with an awesome drive and touchdown pass by Alex S. to Chris M., who then backwards passed it to Kyle K., taking it up the sideline for the Blue Team's 4th touchdown. (This play was contested during game time but upon further review was in fact a touchdown play. So Alex and Kyle do get stats for this play.)

At about this point, Chris M., playing for the Blue Team, had to leave. So the Blue Team traded for Ben H. from the Red Team for the rest of the game.

The Red Team and Blue Team then were trading interceptions on the next few drives: Zach K. getting one for the Red Team and Alex S. getting one for the Blue Team. The Blue Team finally put up another touchdown with a pass from Nick T. to Ben H., putting the score at 5-1.

The Red Team was finally able to put up their second touchdown on their next drive with a touchdown pass from Todd P. to Zach K. Another back and forth between the Red Team and Blue Team happened as we dropped to a 6vs6 game after another player had to leave.

The Red Team was then able to put up another touchdown with a pass from Tyler J. to Zach K. The Blue Team tried to put together another drive but got stopped by the Red Team. This was when the final touchdown/drive was called. The Red Team tried to put up one final touchdown but got stopped by the Blue Team's defense, and with our camera crew starting to freeze with the temperature dropping on the sidelines, we decided to call the game.

This turned out to be another great game for the 48th season of the GEFNFL.
