7 Vehicle Crash On Route 2 In Western Massachusetts Injures 6, Including 1 Critically, Officials Say

Six people were injured Monday morning in a seven-vehicle crash involving a lumber truck on Route 2 West in central Massachusetts.
According to Massachusetts State Police, the collision occurred around 9:45 a.m. near Exit 79, by the Phillipston/Templeton line where Routes 202 and 2A intersect.
Six individuals were transported to nearby hospitals with serious injuries, while one victim was taken to a Worcester hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Drone footage showed extensive damage to seven vehicles, including a lumber truck and a burned Honda CR-V. Two commercial vans, two pickup trucks, and a dump truck also appeared to be involved.
All westbound lanes reopened shortly before 3 p.m. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
