A$AP Rocky Slams Drake For Suing UMG Over Kendrick Lamar Beef: “What Part Of The Game Is That?”

A$AP Rocky has weighed in on the ongoing drama between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, especially after Drake’s unexpected lawsuit against Universal Music Group over Kendrick’s hit diss track, “Not Like Us.”
The Harlem rapper reflected on the rap feud that shook spring 2024, producing viral records like Kendrick’s “Euphoria” and Drake’s “Family Matters,” which even included jabs at Rocky himself. Despite being mentioned, he chose not to involve himself.
“It was good for Hip-Hop,” Rocky said, explaining that the lyrical battle reignited the genre’s competitive spirit. “That was between Kendrick and Drake — not Drake versus everyone who spoke up at the time. That’s why I stayed out of it.”
Still, Rocky admitted his view of the rivalry shifted once Drake decided to pursue legal action over “Not Like Us,” a record that went from diss track to global anthem.
“I don’t like how it’s playing out with Drake suing and all that,” he said. “What kind of move is that? That’s not part of the game. But that’s his business.”
His comments hold more weight given his complicated history with Drake. The two were once collaborators and tourmates, but their relationship reportedly soured after Rocky began dating Rihanna — a woman Drake has long been publicly linked to.
Drake and Rihanna’s on-and-off romance was once a staple of pop culture, highlighted by hits like “Work” and “What’s My Name.” But Rihanna later revealed to Vogue in 2018 that they were no longer friends, following Drake’s uncomfortable public declaration of love at the 2016 VMAs.
Now, Rihanna and Rocky are in a committed relationship, raising two sons — RZA and Riot — and preparing to welcome their third child.
