A TCM way to think of this is that the negative or animalistic people are more water-earth elment and the humans are more earth-wood or earth-fire and the aliens are metal dominant with either wood or fire characteristics.
So water element people grow more hair, nails and fat, earth dominates the muscles. Metal makes people nervous system dominant and wood elongates the limbs.

Hence the lower body and body in general would be less developed (legs, reproductive, muscles, etc) on the alien while the animal has those as its dominant. The human is more balanced having both nervous system and physical body development, but being a more social being/creature.
The alien has more far upper body development with its brain/nerves being the dominant body part.
