New Testament Circumcision (4) Baptism and Communion | Nicholas Roberts

Compared to the Mosaic Covenant, the New Covenant in Christ Jesus has little ceremonial practices. But there are two divinely ordained rituals / ceremonies : Water Baptism and Communion. Both are outward / natural demonstrations of inward / spiritual realities. Baptism is a public declaration of faith, Communion is a symbolic picture of grace. Apart from the spiritual substance for which they serve to represent – they are meaningless. There are many people who never got baptized or partook of the communion elements and are Saved. There are also many more who have been baptized and received the communion elements and are not saved. Neither water baptism or communion have any magical power in and of themselves. The power is in what these ceremonies represent. They become valuable in the believer's life when done in obedience to the Word, in true faith and love from the heart . .
