My company had a very solid CFO 2 CFO's ago. Since he retired, the replacements have been good at putting on a solid front while actually being weak.

The first replacement was the definition of this and the current CFO isn't really trying to be deceptive, but somehow, upper management has her figured out all wrong and thinks she's something a lot more than she currently is.
