This documentary presents valuable testimonies recorded in 1946, when several high-ranking members of the Nazi regime were interrogated following their arrest and prior to the Nuremberg Trials. In these interviews, the leading figures of the Third Reich sought to defend their decisions, downplay their roles, or distance themselves from the regime’s crimes.

Hermann Göring portrayed himself as a cultured and determined leader, claiming his position as Hitler’s political heir, while denying any involvement in the genocide of the Jews. Despite having initiated the first detention camps and overseen the economic plunder of Jewish communities, he claimed ignorance of the mass killings.

Ernst Kaltenbrunner, head of the Reich Security Main Office, tried to appear as a senior official who lacked key information. However, documents bearing his signature directly linked him to deportations, mass executions, and the suppression of dissent.

Joachim von Ribbentrop, in charge of foreign affairs, claimed he was unaware of the regime’s crimes and shifted the blame to others. Karl Dönitz, who succeeded Hitler, presented himself as a naval technician without political engagement, although he played a crucial role in sustaining the Nazi structure.

Their statements followed a common pattern: evasions, excuses, and partial truths. Yet the evidence gathered against them was overwhelming. History confronted them with the facts.
