I just watched Emiru’s video “Addressing What Happened at TwitchCon”, and I’m deeply disturbed. During a meet-and-greet at TwitchCon 2025, she was assaulted—someone bypassed security, grabbed her face, tried to forcibly kiss her. What’s worse: according to her, the official event staff barely reacted, let the assailant walk away, and the platform claims the matter was immediately dealt with. Emiru says that’s untrue.

Failure of immediate barrier and intervention — A fan walking past multiple security layers should never reach a creator. The fact this happened implies broken staff training or compromised setup.
Accused vs reported official narrative — Twitch says “immediately caught,” yet Emiru’s account and video show otherwise. That mismatch speaks to credibility issues.
Leadership accountability — Dan Clancy and Twitch must answer: what security protocols were in place? Why was her black-guarded bodyguard previously banned?
Creator vulnerability — Emiru accepted contractual obligations to attend despite safety concerns; her personal ask for protection was apparently ignored. That sends a dangerous message to other creators.
Gendered risk in creator space — Female streamers often face harassment, stalking, worse. Providing meet-and-greet events without proportional security is negligent.
Call for reform — Conventions must enable creator-sourced security, vetted attendees, immediate detention of assailants, full incident reporting.
Support for Emiru — She did the right thing: spoke out, refused to accept the sanitized version of events, and urged creators to re-evaluate participation. She deserves respect and real change.
