Yes your lumbar has a natural extension curve, but you can go beyond that natural extension, and most people do during incline and even normal push ups. Over extension of the lumbar spine like that can lead to spinal sheering. Push that booty into the air like you brought it for show and tell (maybe not that high, but higher than usual like you see me do) and don't let the abs be a limiting factor in your push ups. My clients can often do more like this and therefore stimulate their pecs better. Give it a shot!
