While investigating the scene of a gruesome mass murder, Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners encounter a mysterious and powerful force. Chapter 8 - A Planted Seed Will Grow:

Escaping the underground catacombs, Sebastian Castellanos finds himself trapped in a monster-infested cave system filled with deadly traps. A strange psychic ripple suddenly transports him back to Beacon Mental Hospital, where he reunites with Dr. Marcelo Jimenez, who reluctantly reveals his role in Ruvik’s STEM experiments and how it all spiraled out of control. Before more can be said, another distortion separates them, throwing Sebastian deeper into Beacon’s warped halls. A grotesque, howling abomination gives chase through the corridors, forcing Sebastian to flee for his life. Barely escaping, he’s taunted once more by Ruvik within the Safe Haven, realizing his grip on reality is fading as the nightmare deepens.

Chapter 9 - The Cruelest Intentions:

Sebastian awakens from a haunting vision of two men burning a barn in a field of sunflowers, a memory that doesn’t belong to him. Drawn to an abandoned mansion he inexplicably recognizes, he discovers it to be Ruvik’s childhood home, where Dr. Jimenez is seen leading Leslie deeper inside. Investigating the mansion, Sebastian uncovers gruesome remnants of Ruvik’s early brain experimentation, performing horrifying procedures on cadavers to unlock the sealed main door while ghostly memories of young Ruvik play out before him. The deeper he explores, the more Ruvik’s tragic history unfolds — the murder of his parents, the obsession with his sister Laura, and the trauma that shaped his madness. Eventually, Sebastian relives Ruvik’s past firsthand, witnessing the horrific night Laura was burned alive in the barn while trying to save her brother. Battling waves of Haunted and the crushing weight of Ruvik’s grief, Sebastian escapes the burning vision and finds a hidden passage behind a bookshelf, pushing onward into the darkness below.

Chapter 10 - The Craftsman’s Tools (Part One):

Descending into the hidden passage beneath Ruvik’s mansion, Sebastian overhears echoes of Jimenez and Ruvik debating the morality of their experiments as he enters a blood-soaked maze lined with traps. A massive rotating blade sweeps the room, forcing him to time each movement perfectly to survive while dodging gunfire from lurking Haunted. Deeper in the labyrinth, Sebastian encounters a new breed of hook-handed Haunted, battling multiple at once in a brutal test of endurance. Pushing forward through gore-streaked corridors, he restores power using scattered battery packs to unlock electrified doors, each room revealing more about Ruvik’s twisted operations beneath the mansion. The deeper he goes, the walls seem to breathe with the screams of the dead, until a psychic surge from Ruvik ripples through the hall, warping the world around Sebastian once more.
