Zohran Mamdani claimed that his aunt stopped taking the NYC subway after 9/11 due to feeling unsafe in her hijab, basically calling New Yorkers bigots. But it turns out his story is false: his aunt lived and worked in Tanzania, never took the NYC subway, and was unaffected.
