Jibril Rajoub: 'Don’t condemn armed struggle, we used it deliberately and strategically'

Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub: “What happened on October 7 (i.e., Hamas’ massacre and war on Israel) is a response to the crimes committed against the Palestinian people [by Israel] since 1948."

Fatah Central Committee Secretary Jibril Rajoub: “What happened on October 7 (i.e., Hamas’ massacre and war on Israel) is a response to the crimes committed against the Palestinian people [by Israel] since 1948, which constituted a policy of removing the Palestinian people and the Palestinian issue from geography and history… Personally, I cannot condemn the armed activity in our history, as we in the Fatah Movement founded our activities on three principles:

The first principle is that our relations with the occupation are based on a confrontation not limited by time, which began with armed struggle and then moved to political and diplomatic activity... We used [armed struggle] and it was a strategic choice for us. Now, under the current objective conditions, and due to the change in the world [in support of the Palestinians], we believe that it is our right to reap through political activity the fruits of what we sowed in armed struggle.”
