R2.5 Million Bribe Allegations:
In a shocking development at South Africa's Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, witnesses have alleged that murder-accused businessman Katiso "KT" Molefe paid a R2.5 million bribe to secure his release on R400,000 bail from the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg, despite initially being denied bail by the Alexandra Magistrate's Court due to the severity of charges including multiple murders and ties to organized crime. Acting Judge President Aubrey Ledwaba, who presided over the appeal, has vehemently denied any involvement in bribery, calling the claims unfounded and damaging to judicial integrity. In contrast, co-accused Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala—also facing serious charges linked to the same alleged "Big 5" cartel—had his bail application rejected by the same Alexandra Magistrate's Court, with police warning that his release could endanger witnesses and investigators. The disparity has sparked outrage, highlighting concerns over elite impunity and potential corruption in the justice system as the case unfolds.
