Desperately waiting on my hope to come
waiting on my goal to be revealed
slowly growing cold as my soul turns numb
letting the truth remain concealed

a canyon, it seems, may not be crossed
those who venture beyond it all lost
until I split the stone
bridge it on my own
and set us all free

there's purpose to gold lying in the ground
but its no good to us inside the earth
so how can I let go of this truth I've found
