Day 301 – The Call to Follow: From the Wilderness to the Water — Luke 3–5 | Bible In A Year (CSB)

In these chapters, John the Baptist prepares the way for the Lord, calling people to repentance. Jesus is baptized, faces temptation in the wilderness, and begins His public ministry. We see Him teach with authority, perform miraculous healings, and call ordinary fishermen to become His disciples. From the wilderness to the water, Luke shows us that Jesus came not just to cleanse people’s sins, but to call them into a completely new way of life.

Questions:
1. Why do you think Jesus—who was without sin—chose to be baptized? What does this reveal about His mission and identity?

2. How does Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness shape our understanding of His humanity and obedience to God?

3. When Peter realizes who Jesus is after the miraculous catch of fish, he falls to his knees in awe. How does encountering Jesus’ holiness expose and transform our own hearts?
