Tens of thousands have fled Sudan violence, says UNHCR

The U.N. refugee agency expressed deep concern on Tuesday (October 28) about the worsening conflict in the capital of Sudan’s North Darfur region, Al Fashir, that has forced 26,000 people to flee to Tawila. UNHCR’s head of sub-office in Sudan, Jacqueline Wilma Parlevliet said the team on the ground is reporting “horrendous and horrific” stories.
