💉🐒 COVID again? Lab monkeys break free in Mississippi — reports

A truck hauling lab monkeys from Tulane University crashed on a Mississippi highway, triggering a manhunt for escaped primates, WTVA reported.

🦠 The sheriff’s office initially warned the monkeys carried hepatitis, herpes and COVID, then retracted the claim—but said the animals were still “dangerous and a threat to humans.” Tulane said the primates were “not infectious.”

By afternoon, officials confirmed all but one of the monkeys had been “destroyed.”
