When Ngawairoa Tipene can't speak, her father and brother can.

On October 15, almost a dozen police took Hone Tipene and his 13-year-old daughter Ngawairoa into custody after a Hollywood block buster police chase and arrest. The video went viral as onlookers expressed outrage at the way police were handling the young girl especially.

Hone was released without charge and Ngawairoa was forced on a plane and sent to Australia against her will, to her mother, whom she does not want to live with.

Last year Kelvyn met with Hone and we published his concerns that the state would unlawfully uplift his daughter against her will. Sadly it has now happened and Hone is speaking out to bring context to the situation explaining what happened on October 15. He sat down with Kelvyn and goes into the detail and reitterartes he is simply wanting Ngawairoa's wishes to be honoured.

We have also included the testimony of Ngawairoa's brother, Taupuwai, released yesterday, as he spoke with his father and explained that his mother's actions have resulted in both siblings not wanting to be with her in Australia.

Ngawairoa's voice has been silenced and her whanau simply want her to be heard and her desire to be back on the whenua to be respected.

Counterspin Media had the opportunity to meet with Hone Tipene in Motatau recently and witnessed a Father that will go above and beyond for his children.
He stands strong against what some describe as New Zealand’s premier child-trafficking agency, Oranga Tamariki. There is no doubt in our minds that he is a genuine family oriented man who will do what all men should do for their children, and that's fight to protect them.

'The so called Authorities are planning to unlawfully uplift our kotiro by force and against her will. They will attempt to uproot her from her papakainga here in Motatau and place her on foreign soil.
Judge Michelle Howard-Sager from Kaikohe family court has overuled our kotiros lawful testimony and ignored her sincere plea to remain here in Motatau with her dad, brother and whanau. The judge has ordered Ngawaiora be sent to Perth, Australia where her mother currently resides.
Care of Children Act 2004 Section 6 (subsection 2b) clearly states "any views the child expresses (either directly or through a representative) must be taken into account"
Our whānau, community and many others will stand up and do what's right and necessary in order to protect the best intererests of our kotiro while honoring her decision and wishes.

As your father, I will do everything in my power to ensure you are safe. Your wishes, your voice and your plead to be home is heard and respected by all who choose to hear your truth.
I will not allow the courts and companies using Admiralty Court rules jurisdiction. Will all be held to account for their evil works.
This system has no power or jurisdiction acting against the best interests and rights of our kotiro and whanau.
