End-to-End Encryption (E2EE)

End-to-End Encryption (E2EE) is a method of secure communication that prevents third parties from accessing data while it’s being transferred from one end system to another. In E2EE, data is encrypted on the sender’s device and can only be decrypted by the intended recipient. Even service providers, intermediaries, or hackers cannot read the message contents — only the two endpoints hold the encryption keys.

This encryption method is commonly used in messaging platforms like WhatsApp, Signal, and Telegram (Secret Chats), where privacy and confidentiality are crucial. The encryption process relies on asymmetric cryptography (public and private keys) to ensure that only the recipient can decrypt the data.
