Sweden is in Trouble

In September 2024, 18-year-old Eritrean refugee Yazied Mohamed raped 16-year-old Swedish girl Meya Åberg in an underground passage in Skellefteå, Sweden, leading to his conviction and a three-year prison sentence upheld by an appeals court in October 2025. The court refused to deport him after his release, ruling that the assault was too "brief" to qualify as an "exceptionally serious" crime under Swedish law, despite the victim's severe ongoing trauma including PTSD-like symptoms.
