The Curse of the Waters: Parshah Noach

The waters were withheld because we didn't make place for God, but instead chose the flesh over God. The flesh is what fed us. That is why we only brought forth thorns and thistles. We rule over the flesh by letting what comes from below die. Then, by getting ourselves out of the way, God's spirit can come into our flesh and the glory of God can be its covering once more.
