All Souls Day - November 2 - Pray for those in Purgatory!

Today, Sunday is All Souls Day. On this day we have special remembrance of those in Purgatory as they continue the process of being perfectly purified. We know that nothing unclean may enter heaven and so although their salvation is assured and secure, they must still be wiped clean of every venial sin and all of sin’s effects on their soul.

St. Gertrude wrote this beautiful prayer for the holy souls in Purgatory that I say multiple times during the day for my loved ones: Eternal Father, I offer thee the most precious Blood of thy divine Son, Jesus, in union with Masses said throughout the world today, for the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, those in my own home, and within my family. Amen.
