Israel says ‘ceasefire’ back on after killing more than 100 in strikes

Israel announced Wednesday that a ceasefire in Gaza was back in effect after launching intense airstrikes that killed over 100 Palestinians, including many children, according to local health officials.

The strikes followed accusations between Israel and Hamas over ceasefire violations, with Israel claiming Hamas attacked soldiers in Rafah—a claim Hamas denied.

President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance both said the truce remained intact despite the violence, expressing support for Israel’s actions, NBC News has reported.

Tensions also rose over the return of hostage remains, with Israel accusing Hamas of staging a fake recovery, a charge the Red Cross called “unacceptable.”
