“[Nicholas of Cusa] developed a method of thinking, of thinking something completely new… It was the idea that human reason has the capability to define a solution on a completely different and higher level, than those on which all the conflicts and contradictions arose. It addresses the capacity to think a One, which is of a higher magnitude and power, than the Many. And once you train your mind to think that way [according to the coincidence of opposites], you have the inerrant key to creativity, and one can apply this way of thinking to virtually all realms of thought.”
—Helga Zepp-LaRouche, June 2021.

On Oct. 25, 2025 in St. Peter’s Square, Pope Leo XIV spoke to tens of thousands of people from over 90 countries about Cardinal Nicholas of Cusa and his “theology of Hope.” Due to the revival of Cusa's extraordinary life and work by founder and chairman of the Schiller Institute Helga Zepp-LaRouche and by her late husband Lyndon LaRouche, generally only people who have been following the LaRouche movement over the years have become familiar with Cusa's ideas. Now, with the Pope's message, mankind has a much greater opportunity to again benefit from this father of the 15th Century Golden Renaissance.

This week's video, originally titled "Will Human History End Now in a Tragedy, or Triumph in a New Paradigm?", features an in-depth presentation by Helga Zepp-LaRouche on the method of thinking discovered by Cusa given to an audience of young people from around the world in June of 2021. Zepp-LaRouche asserts that to get out of the onrushing New Dark Age, mankind must learn from Cusa, starting by addressing the underlying crisis, that in the method of thinking.
