It All Comes Around Full Circle. Completion, Completion

🚨Northern Irish Protestants are calling on King Charles to abdicate the throne after he prayed with the Pope for the first time in 500 years, breaking the King's oath to the Protestant United Kingdom; since all the recent royal bloodlines of England, Scotland, & Wales have already merged into that one family, the ONLY native royal bloodline left in UK territory that hasn't compromised by reverting from Protestantism to Catholicism after having the rule are any non-Catholics of the O'Neill Dynasty. As for me, I don't need nor want a throne, I just need to be free to make some music.

EDIT: "King James... by an act of oblivion, published by proclamation under the great seal, did forgive and utterly extinguish all offences against the crown [of O'Neill and O'Donnell]" (source: The History of the Kingdom of Ireland).To note: O'Donnell's territory is west of the UK. Both royal families left of their own accord in the "Flight of the Earls" in 1607, supposedly seeking allies, yet to return.

The O'Neill Dynasty, historically the foremost dynasty in Ireland, left off in a succession conflict in which Shane O'Neill and marshall O'Donnelly believed that Matthew O'Neill (Hugh's father) was the son of a blacksmith, not an O'Neill. O'Donnelly (foster parents of Shane O'Neill) was therefore ordered to take out Matthew O'Neill. Matthew's son, Hugh O'Neill, later defeated the sons of Shane (the MacShanes) for the throne. The 9 Years' War ended by treaty with Hugh O'Neill, who later left in the Flight of the Earls.

Therefore, the inheritors today of the throne would be between O'Neill (~25% of people w/ that surname today), MacShane (~10% of those w/ that surname today), and O'Donnelly (~75% of those w/ that surname today). Allow me to explain. Normally, O'Cahan & O'Hagan would be in that tier too, but O'Cahan turned on us mid-war during the 9 Years' War, and O'Hagan though usually #2 to O'Neill (O'Donnelly #2 in wartime situations), was not officially of the "ríoghradh" (the line of the rule). However O'Donnelly (their family crest nearly identical to the O'Neill's) and O'Devlin were (though O'Donnelly held higher position than O'Devlin, being royal marshall).

Due to Irish persecution over the centuries, many families today don't have specific records of whether they're descended from, say Hugh O'Neill or another O'Neill (Hugh's legitimacy still in fair question), ~25% of O'Neills today being from the original royal O'Neill family at all due to many adopting the name. The MacShanes were nearly extinguished and did collectively vie for the throne once already and lost to Hugh. O'Donnelly would technically be next up (being of the "ríoghradh") and ~75% of us today come from the original O'Donnelly from Ulster who was marshall to the O'Neill. As you can intuit, there are arguments for each of these 3.

(btw, Clanaboy O'Neills & O'Neill of the Fews are different branches that separated centuries earlier and would not inherit the throne of Tyrone [Tír Eógain], as they were not part of the central regional over-kingdom system or rí ruirech ríoghradh of Tír Eógain)
