In Irkutsk, the fully import-substituted MS-21-310, in its serial configuration, successfully completed its first flight. Its main feature is the serial Russian PD-14 engines and a whole complex of new national systems. The aircraft spent about an hour in the air, reaching speeds up to 500 km/h and an altitude up to 3500 meters. The flight plan was fully completed and the national systems, including the power unit, operated normally.
The aircraft will join the certification test program along with the MS-21 prototype, partially equipped with new Russian systems and components, which made its first flight in the new configuration on April 29, 2025.

Rostech recalls that the following were replaced on the aircraft: cockpit controls; control system actuators; wing mechanization movement system and stabilizer adjustment mechanism; onboard radio-electronic equipment complex; integrated air conditioning system; integrated system for collecting, controlling, processing, and recording flight information; wheel braking system; main and auxiliary power units; fuel system and other equipment.

Today's flight is proof of the success of the import substitution program and the result of the colossal work of thousands of specialists: engineers, designers, technicians, and test pilots.
