Playthrough of Dead Space (2008).

Will be playing through the game on Hard Difficulty.

I should probably take the time to explain why I'm using the weapons in my current loadout and my thoughts on all weapons in the game.

Plasma Cutter:
It's the most versatile weapon in the game. The game clearly wants you to use as your main weapon for most of it. It will get you out of a lot of bad situations.

Ripper:
Definitely a weapon you want to use for getting up close and personal. Ammo for it drops frequently and you can get easy credits for selling it. It's weapon that will pay for itself when sell the ammo for power nodes. I haven't used it as much in this round due to how weak it is when not upgraded on Hard mode. However, I do intend to make more use of it on the next round (spoilers).

Contact Beam:
Probably the best Damage Dealer in the game. The only issue with it is it's rate of fire. Even when not upgraded it basically acts as a delete button for a large number of necromorphs. I also find this the best weapon for dealing with Brutes. It'll blow it's arms off after a few shots.

Force Gun:
Not the best when you first get it. It's perfect for pushing enemies off of you if you're surrounded. It's the best way of dealing with the tiny pests you need to shake off of you (the name of them escapes me). When it's fully upgraded, it deal out a lot of damage in a great way.

I'll give my thoughts on the other weapons in a later vid.
