Mogilev Airport conducted a comprehensive emergency rescue flight support drill

A set of special measures is carried out to improve the organization of emergency rescue operations, to practice the interaction and practical actions of the airport rescue team, involved units, and cooperating organizations in accordance with the requirements of the Emergency Plan.

🚒🚑 The drill involved forces and resources from the Mogilev branch of the National Airport Minsk, the enterprise "Belaeronavigation," the institution "Mogilev Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus," the Mogilev City Ambulance Station, and the Internal Affairs Department of the Mogilev District Executive Committee. In total, more than 60 specialists and airport staff and about 15 units of equipment were involved.

According to the drill scenario, during the landing approach, the right landing gear of the Boeing 737-500 did not lock. The abnormal situation could have caused a fire upon the aircraft's landing. The commander decided to land on a foam-covered runway.

As a result of the coordinated actions of the emergency rescue team, the organization of the operational headquarters was practiced, and actions to extinguish aviation fuel fires, rescue people and provide them with first aid, evacuate the injured, cordon off, and control access were demonstrated.
