Thought of the week (Finances)

So, for this week it is focused on not going into debt unnecessarily or buying so many things you are focused more on the material than on God. So, here it is.
“God warns us about being a ‘Borrower’. He does that because our Heavenly Father wants us to have the best life possible. He also wants us to be free and available to answer His Call. To go and do what He may ask of us. If we are buried in debt, neither of those is possible.
This is especially important at this time of year with Christmas coming. Our culture tells us to ‘Shop Till You Drop’ and just put it on a credit card. God tells us just the opposite. If we, and our children, are so obsessed with things and how many dozens of gifts they can get, then we have lost sight of God and of what is important.
If you want all God has for you, stopping spending more than you have on-hand and stop focusing primarily on the things in your life. Instead, look to Him. Even if you have to go without in the short-term, He will provide. And by getting out of debt, you will find your life is happier and calmer.”
