IT DID NOT START IN 2023

Piers Morgan and other pro-Israel commentators often claim that Israel’s oppressive actions only began after October 7th 2023. But this clip tells a different story.

Nadine Abdel-Taif was just ten years old when she was interviewed by Middle East Eye on May 15th 2021, days after an Israeli airstrike destroyed her home and her neighbour’s, killing eight children and two women during Israel’s 11-day assault on Gaza. According to Al Jazeera, between May 10 and May 21 2021, at least 261 Palestinians were killed, including 67 children and 41 women. Over 2,200 others were injured, 113,000 displaced, and nearly 1,770 homes destroyed.

Since 2006, Israel has repeatedly sought to crush Hamas, which was democratically elected that same year, by collectively punishing Gaza’s civilians under strategies such as the Dahiya Doctrine. These assaults were repeated in 2008, 2009, 2012, 2014, and 2021. For this reason, many analysts argue that the violence between Israel and Gaza did not begin on October 7th 2023. It is part of a long, devastating pattern.
