Day three of our Lake Navarino escape. The morning begins with breakfast and feeding the birds again — magpies, parrots, and cheeky visitors waiting on the porch. Then we head out to Harvey, exploring an abandoned train station, a quiet cemetery, and the charming Stirling’s Cottage and Heritage Gardens. After visiting the Harvey Dam and its peaceful parklands, we drive to the eerie Waroona Dam and then to Yarloop — a town once devastated by fire, now filled with rusted machinery and haunting silence. A friendly parrot even says ā€œhello.ā€ Later, we stop by the unusual Hamel Eco Park with its crumbling sheds, and stumble upon a strange spot in Waroona where creepy heads hang from trees. The day closes back at the cabin, with a night walk through the dark forest as Cheeky takes her last stroll before bed.
