The Story Behind Blood of the Oath

This song is inspired by Týr, the Norse god of law, justice, and war — the god who placed honor above flesh.
When the wolf Fenrir grew so mighty that even the gods feared him, only Týr had the courage to bind the beast.
Knowing he would lose his hand, he laid it willingly in Fenrir’s jaws — an oath made in faith, a sacrifice made in truth.
The wolf bit down, and blood sealed the peace.

Týr’s story is not one of conquest, but of duty — of a man who kept his word even when it cost him everything.
He is the embodiment of the old Western virtue:
