You won't need convincing...this is the best alternative music of 1989 & that's important because the genre was beginning to become 'a thing' right at this moment in history. If you study the release dates of albums & films (and I do), then you'll notice right away that 1989 was an epic year for first albums of artists that went on to become alternative music legends...breaking into mainstream & making the term Alternative seem almost pointless...but we can agree there are relative parameters to what we'd call a good 'alternative rock' song...or whatever it is...not all this is 'rock' but most of it falls into that category...who is 'in the mix'?

Folks...89 on is when I was really forming my 'grown folk' taste, maturing as it were. I wasn't happy waiting for what Rick Dees & Casey Kasem told me to listen to...I knew there was uncharted territory out there and dammit I was gonna chart it...and I did, and I do...and here it is...today this day I think most of these are pretty amazing tracks on their own but I crossfaded them in a way that hopefully you find intriguing. They don't need new life breathed into them but if gets you to dust off those vinyl records, cassettes & cds...mission accomplished (especially if you dusted off an 8-track or reel-to-reel...seriously RESPECT)
