Unsettled weather will return to the Northwest and Northern California today, with heavy rain becoming more likely Tuesday into Wednesday. Strong winds are expected in southwest Oregon this afternoon and evening, spreading to coastal northern California by midweek. A west-to-east flow pattern will bring above-average temperatures across much of the U.S., with wet conditions in the Northwest and dry, breezy weather across the High Plains. A low-pressure system moving into Oregon will drive rain and high winds, followed by another Pacific storm reinforcing wet and windy conditions midweek. Meanwhile, the Great Lakes and Northeast will see light showers, and the High Plains could experience fire weather and record warmth early this week.
