Albert McKnight, witness for the State in rebuttal, at the Trial of Leo Frank in the Fulton County Superior Court of Atlanta, Georgia, in 1913 (Testimony Portion From July 28 - August 21, 1913; Closing Arguments August 21-25, 1913)
Albert McKnight, Minola McKnight’s husband and the Franks’ former cook, testified that Defendant’s Exhibit 52 (a diagram or photo of the Frank dining room) showed the sideboard positioned differently than it was on April 26, 1913. He claimed it was angled more toward the center of the room, not in the corner as depicted.
On cross-examination, McKnight admitted:

He did not actually see the sideboard that day,
He disliked the angle of the plat (diagram),
He could not confirm if the sideboard had been moved.

This brief testimony was offered to support Albert’s earlier claim that he observed Frank’s unusual behavior (nervousness, no dinner) from the kitchen by peeking through the keyhole—implying the sideboard’s position allowed a clear view. Cross-examination, however, undermined his credibility by revealing he never saw the sideboard and was speculating about the diagram.
