M. F. Goldstein, witness for the Defendant in rebuttal, at the Trial of Leo Frank in the Fulton County Superior Court of Atlanta, Georgia, in 1913 (Testimony Portion From July 28 - August 21, 1913; Closing Arguments August 21-25, 1913)
Atlanta attorney M. F. Goldstein, who had known Leo M. Frank for three and a half years, testified that Frank’s character was very good.
On cross-examination, Goldstein revealed the depth of their acquaintance:

They lived on the same street and saw each other nearly every day,
They met several times a month at the Progress Club,
For the last two years, Frank had been second-in-command to Goldstein in their B’nai B’rith lodge.

This testimony was offered to add a prominent Jewish attorney and fraternal leader to the defense’s character parade, showing Frank’s standing in Atlanta’s legal, social, and Jewish communal circles—directly countering the State’s portrayal of an isolated, predatory outsider.
